1. Installing the Shopwindow Module

To install the shopwindow module, follow the usual steps of extracting the module into the sites/all/modules directory of your drupal installation, and then visiting yoursite.com/admin/build/modules to enable the module.

Next, visit the module's settings page, yoursite.com/admin/settings/shopwindow.

Here you will need to enter your Affiliatewindow ID and your shopwindow password. This is not the password you use to log into your account but the 32 character md5 hash you can find by logging into your account, clicking 'Update Details' and then 'Change Password'. It will be listed in a box headed 'ProductServe API'. Cut and paste the password into the box on the settings page.

If you are creating a niche site, such as our example of a site selling Coffee Makers, you will want to set the default base category. To find the category id I recommend you visit shopwindow.com, browse to the category you wish to base your website around, and get the category id from the url. For example, if you wanted to focus on Men's Tops, you would take the id from this url:
http://www.shopwindow.com/category.php?c=179
and place it in the 'Top Category' box.

You can also edit settings on things such as the length of time to cache data, number of products per page, default 'Hot Picks' category etc.
