We all know that how you spend your money can have a big impact on issues of social conscience - buying the right clothes means you don't give money to those operating sweatshops, buying - or not buying - the right products can mean great benefits to the environment and boycotting companies due to their policies can effect change.

Switch to a green electricity supplier

One of the best ways you can cut your impact on the environment is to make the switch to a green electricity supplier or tariff. Currently in the UK all electricity firms must generate a certain percentage of electricity, however there are many firms that offer 100% green electricity supplies.

Since almost all usages of energy in the home that isn't related to heating is electricty consumption, switching to a supplier that generates their electricity from 100% renewable sources such as solar, wind or tidal/wave energy will mean a dramatic cut in your personal emissions and a reduction in climate change worldwide.

rectifi raises £395,500,000 for charity ... in an ideal world

The IMRG - the UK's body of online shops - have today announced that UK shoppers will spend a spectacular £7bn online this Christmas, up 40% from last year.

This massive increase not only shows how many more people are shopping online year on year, but the enormous amount we spend on christmas presents - with internet sales alone dwarfing the £5.9bn the UK government spent on overseas aid to developing countries last year.

rectifi turns charity shopping into a social phenomenon

Welcome back to rectifi, the only website that allows you to raise money for charity as you shop online, search the web or take part in ebay auctions!

We've had a fairly major overhaul here at rectifi, not just giving the design of the site a long-overdue overhaul to make it more attractive and easier to approach, but adding some great new features too, such as social networking, blogs, content creation, stats on how much money you have raised, and wishlists so you can not only tell friends and family what you want for Christmas but get them to raise money for charity when they get it, too!
